The blocks are cut from 2 x 4 scraps that were cut down to be 3 1/4 inches square. I sanded, painted, sanded the edge and then adhered the CTR word block (printed on cardstock) with Mod Podge. A cute and inexpensive birthday gift. If you'd like the printable (6 to a page) please click here http://www.scribd.com/doc/100072070/Choose-the-Right-Subway or for a larger 7.5 square one click here http://www.scribd.com/doc/100072254/CTR-Subway-LargeI've had a few questions asked and in case any others are wondering the same thing I'll post them here.
Q: Do you print on regular paper or cardstock?
A: I print on cardstock, it is less likely to bubble when mod podging.
Q: Can these be printed on an Ink Jet printer?
A: I usually send my color prints to Office Max or somewhere else to be printed on a Laser Jet printer, a print from Ink Jet might bleed/smear when mod podging.
Q: How do you Mod Podge the paper to the block?
A: Mod Podge (it's like a glue) is available at most craft stores and Walmart. I brush a light coat of Mod Podge to the side of the block, stick the paper on, let it dry and then Mod Podge the top. I find that if you let the Mod Podge dry between the two coats it is less likely to bubble.
